Details

A serene and intellectually engaging study where 17th-century European scientific cataloging meets the organic rhythm of 19th-century British textile design, this framed artwork brings an extraordinary decorative narrative to eclectic spaces.

The piece features a masterfully hand-aged reproduction from Basilius Besler’s monumental Hortus Eystettensis (1613), the historic florilegium created to record the botanical wonders of the Prince-Bishop’s gardens in Eichstätt. The elegant composition balances two rare historical specimens, showcasing both their delicate blooms and beautifully detailed root systems: the deep purple Geranium Sanguinarium maius (the striking Bloody Cranesbill) on the left, and the pale, finely veined Geranium anglicanum variegatum on the right. Through a meticulous hand-patinating process, the paper surface takes on a warm, amber-toned historical depth. Elevating this piece into a true sculptural asset, both the custom internal passepartout and the entire outer frame have been fully wrapped by hand in William Morris’s iconic willow foliage pattern. This continuous flow of organic design delivers a captivating tridimensional depth, creating an exquisite piece of "Everyday Poetry" perfect for an elegant study, library, or gallery wall.
