Details

An extraordinary visual encounter where the rigorous naturalism of the early Baroque period meets the rich ornamental depth of 19th-century British design.

This framed botanical plate features a fine, hand-aged reproduction from Basilius Besler's monumental Hortus Eystettensis (1613), the legendary work celebrating the botanical treasures of the Prince-Bishop of Eichstätt's gardens. The composition balances two beautifully observed specimens: Ligustrum (the elegant common privet with its delicate blue-black berries) on the left, and Guaiacana (historically linked to the wild persimmon family, showing its early structural foliage and dark fruit) on the right. Through a deliberate and delicate aging process, the paper surface takes on a warm, amber patina that beautifully emulates centuries of library collection. It is finished with an exquisite, handmade passepartout covered in William Morris’s iconic 1862 "Fruit" pattern, all secured within a crisp aluminum frame. A work of profound "Everyday Poetry," this piece is an ideal decorative asset for layering history, bold color, and academic narrative onto an eclectic wall.
