Details

A beautiful showcase of late 19th and early 20th-century French craftsmanship, this antique wall mirror introduces an organic, highly graphic structure to high-end contemporary interiors.

Carved masterfully from solid wood to replicate the authentic nodules, rings, and textures of natural reed, this rectangular piece stands out for its distinctive architectural corners. The intersecting bars extend past the mirrored plate and terminate in sharp, diagonal cane-cut ends (coupe de bambou), meticulously mimicking a fresh forest harvest. The wood displays a gorgeous, warm honey-amber patina, deeper in tone along the faux-botanical joints. Preserving its original historical mirror plate with light, authentic mercury silvering oxidation and subtle foxing near the borders, this functional art object delivers an exceptional sense of tridimensional depth and narrative charm. It is an ideal accent asset for a collected entryway, a characterful bathroom vanity, or curated beside editorial textile arrangements.
