Details

A masterpiece of organic texture, this monumental serving platter is a celebration of the unpredictable beauty of 19th-century "tortoiseshell" glazes.

The scalloped, lobed edges frame a deep, mottled landscape of umber and cream tones, over which vibrant moss-green splotches have been masterfully applied. This decorative technique, reminiscent of the early Whieldon-ware tradition, creates a rich, painterly surface that feels both ancient and strikingly modern. At 45 cm in length, it is a piece of significant scale—a true "Architect of the Table" that can serve as a dramatic centerpiece or a solo art object on a large console. It embodies the "Everyday Poetry" of the Atelier: a bridge between the raw power of the kiln and the refined atmosphere of a contemporary home.
