Antique Grand Tour Sauce Tureen Signed Giustiniani (Naples, Mid-19th Century)

This magnificent tureen, astonishingly complete with its original underplate and matching ceramic ladle, is a masterwork of Neapolitan craftsmanship. Characterized by a warm peach-toned glaze, it features striking black monochrome medallions depicting classic Italianate landscapes and a captivating view of a smoking Mount Vesuvius. The sculptural lid is crowned with a charming bird-shaped finial. The underside proudly bears the impressed cursive mark of "Giustiniani", the premier ceramics manufactory in 19th-century Naples, highly sought after by aristocratic travelers of the era.
