Antique French Brass Bouillotte Lamp with Green Tôle Shade (Late 19th Century)
Quality & Authenticity Note
Details
A quintessential emblem of classic French elegance.
This authentic, non-electrified Bouillotte lamp is a superb example of late 19th-century craftsmanship. Designed originally to illuminate card games in Parisian salons, it features a sturdy brass base with a traditional dished tray and three gracefully curved candle arms in the shape of hunting horns. The adjustable shade is made of tôle peinte (painted sheet metal) in a classic rich green, designed to direct light downwards while shielding the eyes. A beautifully preserved piece of history that brings sophisticated, atmospheric candlelight to a desk, console, or dining setting.
