Details

The absolute centerpiece of any traditional dining table, full of historic charm and character.

This magnificent soup tureen, complete with its original lid and matching underplate, was produced in England by the renowned Wedgwood manufactory during the late 19th century. It features the collection's signature brown transfer-printed Chinoiserie design, showcasing an exotic landscape framed by intricate floral borders. The tureen is beautifully shaped, boasting elegant sweeping handles and a stunning floral finial on the lid. Perfect as a dramatic centerpiece on a dining table, sideboard, or kitchen island, it brings authentic English country house style to your home.

Technical Details & Condition:

  • Estimated Period: Late 19th Century.

  • Origin: England (Wedgwood).

  • Material: Fine earthenware / ironstone with brown transfer-printed decoration.

  • Dimensions: 38 cm x 25cm.

  • Condition: Fair antique condition with visible signs of history. In the interest of full transparency: the underplate has an old, structural repair (a glued break) which is mainly visible from the underside. Additionally, there is a visible hairline crack inside the tureen bowl. Despite these historical "scars," the piece remains structurally stable and retains immense decorative impact and a beautiful glossy finish. The pricing has been significantly adjusted to reflect these flaws.
