Details

An exceptional showcase of Eastern porcelain mastery, this antique vase delivers a vibrant, maximalist statement presence to contemporary and curated interiors alike.

The vase features a complex, vertically ribbed (fluted) body that dynamically catches the light, accentuating its intricate hand-painted decoration. Adhering to the timeless Imari stylistic canon, the color palette orchestrates a rich dialogue between deep cobalt blue underglaze, iron-red overglaze, and delicate pink, green, and gold highlights. The main body is enveloped in a dense, blooming garden of chrysanthemums and peonies, grounded by a stylized traditional fence and scrolling foliage. The multi-tiered shoulder and neck display geometric lappets, ruyi-shaped cartouches containing floral crests, and cartouches with mythological birds (Ho-Ho phoenixes) and figures in traditional robes. The base is finished with a formal, geometric border of repeating lappets. This piece is a masterclass in texture and layer—perfect as a standalone focal object or for styling alongside curated 20th-century radical furniture.
