Details

A mesmerizing interplay of light and texture on a classic piece of Italian rural history. This substantial terracotta pot hails from the Piedmont region in Italy, dating back to the early 1900s. Originally crafted as a utilitarian vessel for the country pantry, it has aged into a spectacular decorative object. The absolute standout feature is its deep, dark glaze, which has developed a breathtaking, natural iridescence over time. Depending on how the light hits it, the surface reveals oil-slick hues of purple, blue, and metallic green. Adding to its charm is a delicately incised wavy line dancing around the shoulder, just below the sturdy, vertically ribbed handles. With its generous medium-large proportions (40x42 cm), this pot is a magnificent statement piece, perfect as a floor vase for tall dried botanicals or as a standalone sculptural object that brings a touch of "dark rustic" elegance to any room.
