Details

A quintessential expression of French garden elegance, these Medici-style urns capture the timeless beauty of the late 19th-century neoclassical revival. Crafted in heavy cast iron, this pair boasts a classic bell-shaped silhouette characterized by a flared rim with an intricate geometric border and a beautifully gadrooned (lobed) lower body. The urns rest on elegantly turned pedestals and sturdy square bases. What truly distinguishes this pair is the exceptional "verdigris" patina: layers of old green paint have weathered over more than a century, creating a highly textured and organic surface that reveals hints of the dark iron beneath. Whether used as striking garden planters or as sophisticated indoor accents for a mantelpiece or entryway, these urns bring an authentic touch of Parisian "jardin" atmosphere to any setting.
