Antique Italian Iron Garden Table with Trompe-l'œil Faux Marble Top (Early 20th Century)
Quality & Authenticity Note
Details
A magnificent piece of early 20th-century Italian outdoor design, featuring a heavy, ornate iron base and a fascinating artisanal trompe-l'œil top. This enchanting garden table boasts a classic Belle Époque aesthetic with its elegantly scrolled iron base, finished in a beautifully weathered green. The standout feature, however, is the circular top. Crafted from solid stone/marble, it was historically hand-painted by a skilled artisan with a rich "faux marble" finish in earthy tones of ochre, brown, and black. This unique technique—painting stone to mimic a rarer, more exotic marble—adds an incredible layer of history and character. Perfect for a romantic patio, a sunroom, or an enchanting garden, it brings the authentic atmosphere of a historic Italian villa to any setting.
