Details

A vibrant splash of Provencal charm and authentic French countryside history. This classic terracotta confit pot hails from France, dating back to the early 1900s. Originally used to preserve meats (like the famous duck confit) in the cool cellars of French farmhouses, it is instantly recognizable by its rich, vibrant emerald green glaze. The beautiful glaze shows natural color variations, subtle iridescent reflections, and a wonderful weathered patina that only a century of history can provide. Notice the elegant twin handles with their traditional teardrop terminals, a testament to its artisanal, hand-thrown origins. Today, it serves as a stunning decorative accent, perfect for bringing a pop of color, texture, and rustic French elegance to a kitchen counter, a farmhouse table, or a Mediterranean-inspired patio. Technical Details & Condition:

  • Estimated Period: Early 20th Century (1900s).

  • Origin: France (Provence region style).

  • Material: Green glazed terracotta (terre cuite vernissée).

  • Dimensions: Diameter 30 cm | Height 32 cm.

  • Condition: Very good antique condition. The piece boasts a beautiful, authentic patina with expected, honest historical chips and natural glaze wear, especially around the handles, rim, and base, revealing the warm, unglazed terracotta underneath. Structurally solid and exceptionally decorative.
